Field Coordinator, Athens

We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Field Coordinator who will be responsible for A Drop in the Ocean´s overall operations at the Victoria's Community Center, in Athens 💧
The appropriate candidate will be responsible for the:
Site
Work Tasks:
- Lead education and integration programs of DiH in the Victoria Community Center (VCC)
- Supervising the financial situation and keeping it in line with the budget
- Coordinating and supervising teams, composed by international and national staff and volunteers/interns– including induction, follow ups, exit chats and pre-arrival communication, in collaboration with HR
- Monitoring the context and humanitarian needs under his/her areas of responsibility, proposes, designs, and leads assessments and the development of appropriate interventions in coordination with the Head of Programs. Leading actively in the mission wide strategy development
- Coordinate with other actors of the Victoria Community Center for the sustainability of the overall VCC project
- Identifying fundraising opportunities and applying to relevant grants with support of Head of Operations when necessary
- Through activities on social media, contribute to knowledge regarding the organization’s work at the location
- Maintain an overview of available equipment and donations belonging to the organization at the location. Establish and maintain list of inventories
Project
Work Tasks:
- Networking (outreach to other actors and creation of collaborations)
- Identity partners, collaborators and potential donors for projects on site.
- Planning and implementation of trainings (employability and education focused) for volunteers and interns including improving of pre-arrival and induction.
- Supervision and guidance of Volunteers and Interns
- Weekly team-meetings with volunteers and interns
- Update the resources and curriculum in line with DiO's foundation and M&E plan
Competence and qualifications:
- 3 years minimum experience as an experienced Project/ Operations manager (educations projects preferred)
- Bachelor degree in Project management and other relevant field (education, humanitarian field, business, project management)
- Experience form Humanitarian Organisation's, field work, volunteer management in particular
- Experience in educational oriented projects preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills, creativity, problem solving mind
- Innovation on educational projects to better respond to the community's needs
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the refugee/humanitarian context in Greece
- Fluent English skills written and oral
- Greek, French, Farsi and Arabic considered great asset
- Highly proficient in the use of technology (computer literacy, Excel PowerPoint, MS Office, Google docs, Email).
The Field Coordinator will work full-time in Athens, Greece

Starting date : Monday, 26th of August
All Coordinators with A Drop in the Ocean, are travelling on their own responsibility. The successful candidate will be hired under a Greek contract for six (6) months with the possibility of extension. Applicants with a legal right to work in Greece will be considered for the position.
All field workers of the organisation must be above the age of 25 and have to provide with a valid police certificate. Insurance including travel and health is mandatory for all field workers travelling from abroad. If you live outside of Greece, you have to follow your country´s travel-advise.

We distribute necessary items such as food, clothes, and hygiene items. We also provide non-formal education and activities to support psychosocial well-being and build a sense of community and belonging.
