Our interns have a burning desire to support displaced persons. You can become an intern if you are involved in a Bachelor, or Post Graduate Program, and if your university recognizes one of our main four program pillars relevant to your internship. Additionally, for candidates that are independent of University programs, they are welcome to apply. Depending on the needs of the different locations, we request various internship involvement.
We are currently looking for dedicated and inspiring candidates for an internship with us 💧 for the following position:
COMMUNICATION INTERN (LESVOS):
Work Tasks:
- Media content
- Supervise & Update Social media in close collaboration with teams
- Strategic planning on advocacy
- Volunteering in the daily operations at the location
*Details on your tasks will be provided during the first interview if you meet the below requirements.
Competences & Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a clean criminal record
- Commit for a minimum of three (3) months
- Hold or currently pursuing a degree in a University degree within Communications, Journalism or international public affairs or relevant work experience within the field
- Highly Proficient in the use of technology (computer literacy, Excel spreadsheets/ equations, Google Sheets/Docs, PowerPoint, MS Office,Email, smartphone)
- Eye to detail and flexibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player; comfortable working with others but also independently when required with minimal guidance.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the refugee/humanitarian context in Greece. Willingness to learn about new developments.
- Fluency in English; Working knowledge of Greek and other context-relevant languages (i.e. French/German/Farsi/Arabic/Pashto/Dari) are considered as an advantage
- Adaptability; working in a dynamic and fast-changing environment, and efficiently adapting to changes

About Dråpen i Havet
Dråpen i Havet improves the daily lives of people forced to flee. We provide direct and immediate support inside and outside refugee camps and advocate to increase the attention on the situation for people forced to flee their homes. We distribute necessary items such as food, clothes, and hygiene items. We also provide non-formal education and activities to support psychosocial well-being and build a sense of community and belonging.
