To be considered as a volunteer in Bosnia Herzegovina you must:

• Be minimum 23 years 
• Be available to volunteer for at least 4 week
• Have valid travel insurance 
• Be able to provide a clean criminal record

As a fieldworker in Sarajevo you will work in an inspiring team of local and international volunteers and staff members. You will have a chance to really make a difference in our small and efficient organisation, and you will get a good understanding of the living conditions and challenges displaced people meet while their life is on hold. 

Dråpen i Havet (A Drop in the Ocean) organizes various distributions and activities in and around the refugee camps in Bosnia Herzegovina, mainly focusing on the area of Sarajevo. Inside Usivak camp we arrange programs which contribute to learning, empowerment and socialization, in addition to making the everyday life of refugees more meaningful. Amongst our activities are language courses, social club and multimedia classes. 

By organising meaningful activities for camp residents, we aim to strengthen the resident’s psychosocial health while living in refugee camps and in the time thereafter.

A Drop in the Ocean works to improve the lives of people fleeing war and persecution. Our support goes directly to displaced persons, and our field workers make a difference – every day.
